Abstract :
Due to the influence of weather, cloud cover is one of the common noises. For optical remote sensing images, it is necessary to find an effective method to reduce or eliminate the impact of clouds, which is not only the basis of remote sensing image interpretation accuracy, but also an important way to enhance the effectiveness and availability of remote sensing data. This paper firstly detect the cloud cover area using the threshold method, and develop a method to simulate the cloud cover area and remove the thick cloud cover and shadow based on the correlation between multi-temporal satellite remote sensing images. From either the visual effect or statistical evaluation results, this method not only eliminates the cloud but also keep the spectrum characteristics of surface features and spatial details. It has been proved that the proposed method is simple, easily applied to other regions.
