Abstract :
A novel ray-tracing forward model is proposed and applied for seismic while drilling (SWD). Seismic while drilling (SWD) technique, describing with the preponderances and basic principles, is introduced in the situation of ray-tracing. Iteration ray-tracing method, which is based on the principle of Fermat, is proposed and tested by established SWD model and ray-tracing simulation. The synthesized SWD record got better fit to the real geologic profile than vibroseis ground seismic exploration, provided more effective guidance of underground structure imaging and wave field inversion.
