Abstract :
The quadratic phase error being caused in a spotlight mapping radar, the image is blurred in proportion as the target leaves the reference point. In this paper, a novel algorithm is proposed that the image quality can be improved. This algorithm can reduce the quadratic phase error by means of two stage FFT processes. As a result, for example, it was found that the image of targets in the antenna beamwidth of 5 degrees could be focused in high resolution.
