Abstract
Electricity purchase prices defined by Czech legislation stimulated a tremendous increase in the installed capacity of photovoltaic power plants (PPPs) in the Czech Republic in 2009 and 2010, up to the current level of 1000 MWp. Due to the unfavourable properties of photovoltaic cells, PPPs affect adversely the distribution network to which they are connected. The present paper describes results of analysis of PPP operation with focus on the dynamics of changes in the power supplied and on compliance with technical requirements for the connection of sources to the distribution system.
