Amplification by > 30 dB of ~ 6 ps, 70 pJ pulses at 1.55 mum wavelength in a core pumped single stage fiber amplifier consisting of a record 875 mum2 effective area Erbium fiber generates record peak powers > 14 kW with M2 ~ 1.1.
