Abstract :
Band distribution of TE mode of two-dimensional photonic crystals with hole structure is theoretically studied in detail by using PWE method. The results show that when the diameter of hole is 1.13 times the period of lattice the band gap width will be the maximum. On that condition, the relation between the band gap width and the refractive index is analyzed. The results show that the band gap distribution of the photonic crystals with big hole structure is similar to the photonic crystals with medium column structure.
