Abstract
In a previous work the authors examined the effect of imperfect equalization of a single-pole time-varying channel on the mean-squared error seen at the receiver in a communications system (M. G. Larimore, et al. Proc. ICASSP, pp. 2157-2180, 1987). Here, those results are extended by first addressing more complicated channel propagation models, and by examining the implications for digital transmission, i.e. the symbol error rate (SER) for a time-varying channel
