Abstract :
Levinson´s recursion allows for the parameterization of an all-zero or an all-pole filter in terms of a sequence of reflection coefficients. Such a parameterization leads to a simple stability test for filters and serves as the foundation for the lattice filter structure. The properties of the mapping from the reflection coefficient sequence to the system function are considered. It is shown that, in many cases, they parallel the properties of the mapping from the filter coefficients to the system function
