Abstract :
Conventional fuzzy qualitative simulation have some limitations. The main reason was the quantity space of conventional fuzzy qualitative simulation was based on the trapeziform membership function. This paper proposed a novel approach of fuzzy qualitative simulation based on Gauss membership function instead of trapeziform membership function. The definition of distance between fuzzy sets was given and the formulas of persistence time and arrival time, which used into temporal filtering technique of fuzzy qualitative simulation, were given in the paper. The validity of the algorithm presented in the paper was proved by a typical example.
