Abstract :
A signal restoration algorithm is proposed as a correction model of distorted kinesiographic measurement. The algorithm performs to build two-dimensional nonlinear correction operator based on the group method of data handling(GMDH) in self-organized manner. A total of 87 lattice points in space which corresponds to the area where the mandible positions at rest and during chewing is selected for measurement and correction. Approximately 92% of the corrected coordinates(241 out of 261 coordinates) revealed the estimation errors smaller than 0.3mm, while 2% of them showed the errors of between 0.5mm and 1.0mm. The mean estimation error for all coordinate values was 0.101mm(s.d.,0.125mm). A 3-D interpolation method for given points in the aforementioned space is also described, in which the measurement of an arbitrary point of a distorted cubic body whose eight edge points are measurements of displacement points is transformed into the interpolated points.
