Abstract :
The High Performance Radio Local Area Network (HIPERLAN) standard is being developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). Radio channel models are required in order to compare the performance of competing candidate schemes for the radio interface of HIPERLAN. This paper describes the various channel modelling techniques examined within ETSI and discusses the merits of each. The methods discussed include ray-tracing techniques, simplified ray-tracing techniques, and purely statistical models
