Abstract :
In this paper, the results of our earlier research (1994, 1995, 1996) on map interpretation applied in an actual production system are presented. The system is evaluated from the point of view of a public utility. Our conclusions on the developed system are presented, and we conclude with some general lessons learned concerning the development of production systems for automated map conversion
