Abstract :
Electroencephalogram (EEG) activity in Male human during pleasant and unpleasant emotions by different events was investigated. When the subjects were listening to pleasant music and noise, the EEG data comparing pleasant and unpleasant states were obtained. Related emotional theta band was studied by using Principal Component Analysis of EEG data, meanwhile extracting the first principal component, the principal component loading from different conditions. It has almost no change of the first principal component contribution rates between listening to pleasant music and listening to noise, but the proportions of the first principal component loadings about the five electrodes which are located in the central regions, temporal regions, and occipital regions are increased, and pleasant musical emotions make a close relationship between theta band and above cortical regions in left hemisphere. This probably mediates emotional, acoustic and perceptual integration.
