Abstract :
This study focuses on the diversification of chemical information between normal leaves and rust leaves of maize. Pathogenesis related proteins play many important roles in plant defense response against pathogen attack. Fourier transform infrared ( FTIR) spectroscopy of rust leaves indicate that amide I and III have obvious differentia. First derivative spectra were applied to enhance spectral resolution. First derivative spectra provided more information of protein. The results showed that FTIR spectroscopy is a well-established method for the study of pathogen attack maize leaves.
