Abstract :
A structure for narrow-transition-band linear-phase lowpass FIR filter design is presented. The essence of the proposed method is to decompose the filter into two stages: a bandstop filter cascaded with a lowpass filter. The transition bandwidth of the lowpass filter is much larger than that of the original filter. The proposed filter has high efficiency and small data memory; it is suitable for implementation on single-chip signal processors
