Abstract :
This paper focuses on the Tennessee Eastman problem which involves a process with 41 measurements and 12 manipulated variables. In the present paper an improved base control system for this process is presented. In the new scheme, reactor temperature is used in a cascade arrangement to control reactor pressure. Much better control of reactor pressure is achieved than was achieved in an earlier approach, and a more optimal process operation should be possible with the new scheme
