Abstract
This paper presents the robust speed and parameters control of induction motors (IM) without speed sensors. The reactive power Model Reference Adaptive System was used to estimate the speed. The method is independent from stator resistance and pure integrator in reference model. Furthermore, parameters, used in the speed approximation, are not affected by temperature change. A squirrel-cage induction motor is set for experiments. Direct Torque Control (DTC) was applied to the control system for the good torque response and based on Space Vector Modulation (SVM) principle. The experimental results showed robust speed while instantaneous load was applied.
