Abstract :
An interior permanent magnet (IPM) synchronous motor is receiving increased attention for many industrial applications because of its high torque to inertia ratio, superior power density, and high efficiency. This paper presents an inductance measurement and the sensorless control for IPM synchronous motor. The method of the inductance measurement uses the relations between current response and voltage when the voltage pulse impresses. The results of inductance measurement is applied the voltage equations, and they compose the observer. The speed error of the observer for the sensorless control is compensated by using instantaneous reactive power in the rotating reference frame fixed to the rotor. Effectiveness of algorithm is confirmed by the experiments.
