Abstract :
Leakage flux losses in a transverse flux generator are studied in the paper in order to improve its performance. The analysis refers to the built generator prototype. The magnetic flux density and induced voltage are calculated using 3D Finite Element Method software. The results are compared with measured ones. The resulted conclusions lead to modification of the generator structure with magnetic shunts. This modified version was modeled and its performance has been determined.
