Abstract :
Average bit error rate (ABER) performance of a dual pre-detection equal gain combining (EGC) diversity receiver has been analyzed over correlated Hoyt fading channels. Mathematical expressions for the probability density function of the receiver output signal-to-noise ratio and the ABER for binary, coherent and non-coherent modulations have been presented. Numerically evaluated results have been found to be closely matching with the computer simulation results. The ABER performance of the pre-detection EGC receiver has been compared with the maximal ratio combining receiver for different modulation schemes.
