Abstract
A voice dialing system prototype, which enables operator-free access from a CO line to a PBX by using a speaker independent digit recognition, was developed, and its functions were confirmed. Speaker independent speech recognition algorithm based on the bandpass filter analysis, the DP matching method and the multi-template method is used to recognize the station number. For guide message synthesis, a multi-pulse coding method with pitch prediction is adopted. Use of signal processors in the primary speech recognition and speech synthesis parts enabled us to develop this compact, economical voice dialing system.
