Abstract :
A novel compact three port optically-controlled optical switch made by a waveguide uni-traveling-carrier photodiode integrated with a waveguide electro-absorption modulator on n-InP substrate was reported. The device, with a 450 ¿ thin-film resistor and a bypass capacitor integrated on chip, demonstrates over 2 GHz 3-dB bandwidth.
