Abstract :
This paper describes a low cost speaker independent voice recognition system (OKI MSM6250). MSM6250 is a single-chip, low cost speaker independent voice recognition system for many applications such as games, toys, watches, automobiles and others. MSM6250 recognizes up to 20 words or phrases. The recognition accuracy reaches more than 89 % with 6 words. MSM6250 consists of seven sections: voice input section, analyzing section, spectrum normalizing section, segmenting section, template pattern memory section, multi-path linear matching section and decision section. For the circuit simplification, we propose the new speech analyzing technique and the multi-path linear matching technique. MSM6250 is successfully integrated in low-power 3µ-CMOS technique. Power consumption under 5V suply voltage is expected to attain 30mW. The chip size is 6.3 × 6.34mm. The input/output signal is TTL compatible. Added, MSM6250 has 8-bits micro-processor compatible bus line, then it is easily connect to micro-processor.
