Abstract :
Spread spectrum modulations are considered for track circuits signalling in the presence of the noise generated by four-quadrant controller drives as used in asynchronous motor AC 50 Hz or 16.7 Hz locomotives. Some characteristic features of the noise and the main design problems of possible spread spectrum systems are discussed
