Abstract :
In this paper, a “real time power system security and control system” which combines energy margin evaluations with simulations on the University of British Columbia´s real-time power system simulator, as well as with fuzzy logic techniques for the decision making process is presented. The energy-based algorithm is called the “Expanded Two-Machine equivalent System”. The energy margin index and the sensitivity parameters are the main inputs to the fuzzy logic security classifier and for the fuzzy logic control strategy. The proposed indexing and algorithm were tested successfully for two small electrical systems
