Abstract :
The usual thinning algorithms based on analyzing the 8 adjoining points of the present pixel usually result in double pixels in the thinned image. In response to the necessity of detecting holes in the numeral recognition,a modified method is proposed based on the original thinning method, which can delete the unnesessory pixels, thus maintaining the single skeleton of the thinned number. It´s proved according to the experiments that the improved method works to the numeral recognition.
