Abstract :
This paper proposes a nonlinear mathematic model to a 6/4 switched reluctance motor (SRM) in terms of Fourier series expression of phase self-inductance under the assumption of negligible mutual effect and various losses. The nonlinear dynamic model for SRM, completed on Matlab/simulink environment, is developed, and the various control strategies, such as the chopped current control (CCC) and the angular position control (APC), are discussed and illustrated. Simulations were carried out on a 0.55 kW three-phase switched reluctance motor with six stator poles and four rotor poles. The simulation results really report the work status of SRM and validate the applicability of the nonlinear model for the switched reluctance motor.
