Abstract :
Reading is the oldest and simplest avenue for recreation and learning. Handicapped individuals should not be restricted to the limited book titles that have been converted to books on tape or e-books. Although there are commercially available page-turners, the manual models require some type of user dexterity while the automated models are over-complex and non-affordable. Therefore, a new design for an automated page-turner has been developed to fulfill this important need. The device implements a re-usable adhesive for increased functionality and novelty. The proposed design includes other significant improvements over the existing art and broadens the market for those in need of such a device. Improvements above current products are its single switch activation, simplicity and reliability. The page-turner will also be reversible, lightweight, require no preparation of the book and most importantly, be affordable.
