Abstract :
This paper presents a set of protocol standards that can be used to implement a Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) to provide distributed Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance efforts with low-cost unmanned aerial vehicles. By leveraging existing networking standards founding the B.A.T.M.A.N ad-hoc protocol, along with best-practice security protocols found in the IPSec security standard, we demonstrate the suitability of our new protocol stack as an effective communications network within a mesh network of mobile aircraft, showcasing efficient throughput and reliability in our embedded systems test platform.
