Abstract
This article presents an approach to the problem of nonlinear output-feedback control. The output-feedback control law is derived within the framework of the globally linearizing control structure; it includes an input-output linearizing state-feedback, a linear error-feedback with integral action, and a reduced-order nonlinear observer. A class of free radical polymerization reactors are considered to illustrate the application and performance of the nonlinear output-feedback control law. For this class, the global asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system is shown
