Abstract :
The large air gap linear induction motor (LIM) has a nice future in amusement equipment. This paper introduced a kind of this new application-sea rover. The construction and traditional design method were described. Based on FEM model, the performance of LIM´S normal force and thrust were investigated in detail. Results show the ratio of normal force to thrust is smaller than normal LIM so that LIM can directly substitute for old rotate motor without much changing system construction. This application was successful verified by experimental result.
