Abstract :
In this paper, hardware design for a blind fine carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimation method is proposed for MB-OFDM UWB system. The method utilizes the conjugate symmetry in frequency domain of the physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) preamble sequence to achieve high accuracy and low complexity fine CFO estimation with wider range of CFO error. Previous contribution to CFO estimation has shown that some parameters such as PLCP sequence number and the normalized CFO error constitute a major hindrance to the performance and estimation range. The proposed estimation method is shown to be independent on the PCLP sequence number and less complex.
