Abstract
Back-propagation artificial neural networks (BP-ANN) have been used to retrieve humidity profiles using microwave humidity sounder (MWHS) measurements onboard FENGYUN-3A (FY-3A) satellite over Beijing region in real time. In the present study, an attempt has been made to inner-compare these profiles in the month of September of 2008. It has been found that in general the humidity profiles retrieved using BP-ANN are agreement with the RAOB profiles, the bias and root mean square difference is comparable with the retrieval models using in advanced microwave sounder unit (AMSU-B).
