Abstract :
This paper defines new architecture for fast handover in WiFi networks based on the idea of Personal AP and centralized management. New enterprise solutions achieve their limits for real-time multimedia communication, but they are in general expensive and not widely deployed. The majority of them is based on the 802.11r standard, which targets a 50 ms handover. The proposed architecture targets a 10 ms handover and it can be deployed on a majority of todays APs and does not require any change on the client side.
