Abstract :
The ACCORD (a contingency-constrained optimal reactive despatch) algorithm is an improved optimal power flow-based voltage/VAr management algorithm which satisfies the National Grid Company (UK) requirements for maintaining pre- and post-fault voltages within operational limits. The developed algorithm is primarily intended for short-term operational planning applications but it could be adapted for use as an online facility. This paper reports on the practical experience of using such a tool in a real time environment
