Abstract :
Flexible Interval Representation System (FIRS) cannot be used for performing an on-line multiplication. In this work, we thus propose a signed Flexible Interval Representation System (signed-FIRS) in the binary base (β = 2). The completeness of our system is shown by introducing a conversion algorithm for a classical interval system into our system. The on-line multiplication in signed-FIRS is also proposed together with the proof of correctness. The delay obtained from the algorithm is 4 in binary base.
