Abstract :
This paper proposes the implementation of a content-based image retrieval system that uses MPEG-7 color image descriptors, integrated into a medical record database. The system functionality is proven in the framework of an oncology application. Several classical relevance feedback methods are evaluated in conjunction with the image content descriptors in terms of overall retrieval rate improvement.
