Abstract :
A versatile approach for simulation of the Doppler spectrum for Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communications channels employing non-omnidirectional antennas is presented. We develop a three-dimensional (3D) model for the Doppler frequency of multipath components in vehicular environments. Our developed model can be efficiently utilized to simulate Doppler spectrum in a variety of vehicular traffic conditions. Simulation results demonstrate that when a directive antenna is employed in a 3D scattering environment, the Doppler spectra could be different from the spectra either measured with omnidirectional antennas or developed under two dimensional (2D) scattering assumptions.
