Abstract :
The paper presents a way to operate the RAKE receiver in a CDMA cellular communication system without the aid of the unmodulated cell unique PN, i.e., the pilot for the purpose of increasing the capacity with less transmission power. The receiver operation with suppressed carrier was accomplished simply through first despreading one known Walsh code, then wiping out the user´s data either by noncoherent energy measurement in timing tracking or by taking ratio of I and Q channel estimation in coherent demodulation
