Abstract :
In order to improve dynamic characteristics of electro-mechanical converter of electro-hydraulic digital valve, a novel low inertia rotating electromagnet with coreless rotor is proposed in this paper. The working principle of traditional multi-pole rotating electromagnet is discussed in detail firstly. Then the structure and magnetic circuit of low inertia rotating electromagnet is present. For the purpose of increasing the magnetic flux density of the air-gap, Nd-Fe-B and permalloy are used as permanent magnet and soft magnetic material, respectively. Dynamic response experiment is performed and results illustrate the low inertia rotating electromagnet has good dynamic characteristic which possess capability of fast rise time and smooth recurrence of sinusoidal input signal.
