Abstract :
Degradation of installed jacket and insulation material of cables can be influenced from high temperature, humidity in containment building of nuclear power plant (NPP). Especially, cables have the important role in NPP for supply power to safety-related equipment. Now, the life of NPP was designed 30years. However, recently revaluation of the life of installed facilities and devices has been progressing research to extending the lifetime of the NPP. The cables of the Wolsung NPP unit 1 were revaluated for extending the lifetime in Korea. From the results of evaluation, we have obtained the environmental qualification (EQ) data of variety cables used in nuclear power plant. And the life of the cables was analyzed using the EQ reports. These experiences will be contributed to the reliability of the life extension in NPP.
