Abstract :
Decomposition scale has effect on the image fusion based wavelet transform. This paper utilise the entropy and correlation coefficient as evaluation indexes, taking panchromatic and multispectral IKONOS images of two different regions as research data, investigated the wavelet-based image fusion effects on different decomposition scales to determine the best decomposition scale for IKONOS image fusion. The experimental result showed that the fusion effect was the best when the wavelet decomposition scale is 3.
