A method of braking the induction motors (IM) is discussed, which allows the energy to be dissipated by the resistances of the motor. This paper analyzes the control model of this method, presents the physical restrictions of the implication and details of the control scheme. Experimental results show the validity. The method can be used in various general inverter-fed IM systems that need quick braking
