  • Abstract
Frequency response analysis (FRA) is a novelty way to monitor transformer internal winding distortions. After inputting frequency signal from one port of winding, measuring the characteristic parameter of the two ports of winding, such as inputting impedance, outputting impedance, current-transfer ratio and voltage-transfer ratio, etc., the structure character of the winding can be judged by analyzing the frequency map of terminal parameter characteristic. The use of the method is becoming more and more universal in engineering field because of its distinct superiority. The paper introduces the whole procedure of the way to test the distortion status of the transformer winding, that is, the basic principle of the frequency response analysis, the range of the test frequency, the amount choice of the scan, the influence factors in the test and the way to judge the result of the test. At the end, the paper presents the true examples of the original curve getting from certain power supply corporation in Jiangxi Province
