Abstract
This paper presents the performance analysis of a variable speed wind energy conversion system that employs permanent magnet generator (PMG) coupled to horizontal axis wind turbine. The study involves a computer simulation of the wind turbine driven PMG connected to the grid through an inverter. The switching signal for the PWM inverter has been generated by a method of DC link voltage control adopted for control of active power transferred through the system. The dynamic model of the wind power conversion system is developed using MATLAB/Simulink software.
