Abstract :
We study the architectural impact of the I/O subsystem design on the performance of high-speed networks. We developed a new architecture for this I/O subsystem. The new architecture resolves the “windowing out” and the “delayed acknowledgment” problems that are raised in the current architectures. It also speeds up the receiver´s absorbing process and improves the network utilization and its throughput
