Abstract :
66% of transformers operating in PLN P3B JB are using open breather type conservator. This means that the probability of oil oxidation is high and hence is the paper hydrolysis. Therefore, the knowledge of degradation level due to hydrolysis is of our interest. Author tries to find evidence of relationship between oil acidity and insulation paper condition by comparing two test parameters (i.e. acidity/neutral number and furan analysis) among 110 units of sample transformers in PLN P3B JB. Furan analysis was used to detect paper degradation, while acidity test used to detect oil oxidation. By identifying the relation of those two parameters, we can measure the effect of oil oxidation to paper condition.
