Abstract :
In power system operation, frequency issue caused by power imbalance between generation and load can be happened in power system. If generation is smaller than load, system frequency will drop. When generation deficiency is too large, system frequency will decrease significantly which can lead to system blackout. To solve this frequency issue, proper under-frequency load shedding and also islanding scheme is essential to prevent continuous decreasing of system frequency. In this paper, conventional under-frequency load shedding and islanding scheme based on generator coherency is designed for Sulawesi Selatan-Tenggara-Barat (Sulselrabar) system, one of power system in Sulawesi, Indonesia. Sulselrabar system isn´t too large with peak load of about 800 MW therefore application of conventional under-frequency load shedding and islanding scheme is adequate. All simulations in this paper were performed using DIgSILENT Power Factory.
