Abstract :
This work extends the frequency range of continuous-time linear phase filters, for read channels, to 150 MHz. The group delay sensitivites of first and second order low pass transfer functions are derived to establish performance criteria for practical Gm-C integrators. A current scaleable integrator satisfying the above requirements and programmable over a wide range of unity-gain frequencies is designed to realize a seventh order, 0.05° equiripple, linear phase filter. The filter is implemented in a 0.29 μm BiCMOS process, occupies 0.5 sq.mm, and dissipates 180 mW for a 150 MHz cut-off frequency
