Abstract :
This paper proposes a new composite right/left handed transmission line metamaterial with a series parallel LC circuit & a shunt series LC tank circuit. A shorted interdigital capacitor (IDC) provide the shunt series LC tank circuit, while the right handed parasitic series inductance & shunt series capacitance are generated by the metallic connections in the direction of propagation. A transmission line model & a full wave simulation are used to calculate the left handed inductance (LL) & capacitance (CL) values of the equivalent circuit of this structure.
